When the MER Music team approached us to assist with the brand identity design for Alan Walker’s upcoming tour, they brought an exciting opportunity to shape the visual and aural elements of a major music event. Alan Walker’s team pitched a concept that was rooted in the artist's current branding yet envisioned a future-forward identity for the tour, known as ‘Walkerverse.’ Our task was to craft a traditional style guide that would effectively communicate the tour’s visual identity to Alan’s global fan base.

The initial phase focused on creating a logomark that aligned with Alan’s established brand while offering a fresh, futuristic twist. We explored various designs before settling on a simple yet impactful logomark: an 'A' without crosslines, seamlessly integrated into a winged 'W,' evoking a sense of motion and transformation. This logomark became the cornerstone for the tour’s visual identity, influencing all subsequent design elements.

The next step was developing a color palette that would be both striking and versatile across different media. We needed to ensure that the colors worked in print and digital formats, so the palette included HEX, CMYK, and Pantone specifications. The final selection centered around a bold black and hive yellow, complemented by white as needed. This color scheme has become synonymous with the Walkerverse identity, making a strong impact in tour merchandise, stage setups, and promotional materials.

The final phase involved designing iconography to represent tracks from the upcoming album 'Walkerverse.' This process was both challenging and rewarding, requiring extensive experimentation to create symbols that resonated with the themes of the album. The chosen icons were incorporated into various elements of the tour’s branding.

Additionally, we designed a custom metal pendant for Alan Walker to wear during music videos and performances. The pendant features a circle with directional markings, akin to a compass, and prominently displays the Walkverse logomark. The result is a sleek and bold accessory that complements the overall tour aesthetic.

The project’s outcome exceeded expectations, receiving enthusiastic feedback from both MER and Alan Walker. Seeing the comprehensive brand identity come to life and resonate with fans worldwide has been incredibly gratifying.
